Alsace has been for many years a part of France that’s very much has it’s own identity. It’s full of small villages, a history that has resulted in it swapping between France and Germany a few times, and of course - WINE!

Domaine Lissner was started back in 1848, and is now 10ha in size, located near Wolxheim. It’s a Domaine that’s takes the preservation of land rather seriously (brownie points inserted here), with wild florals/fauna dispersed amongst the vines.

Riesling is a grape that’s loved by Sommeliers, but often overlooked, due to a bad rep of them all being sweet amongst other reasons. Rieslings from Alsace do tend to be on the drier side, are fuller in body than those made in Germany and have slightly higher alcohol levels too.

Les Terroirs was grown on triassic soils then vinified in stainless steel, with 1 years worth of ageing on its lees (dead yeasts). Upon bottling the wine wasn’t filtered or fined, and had next o zero sulphur added also.

The result is a wine, that although has a full body, has a real freshness and vibrancy. It shows aromas of tart green apples, lemon zest, blossom and this smokey minerality. On the palate the wine is dry with a high acidity and this beautiful texture that just keeps on giving.
